FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 5, 2010 LOCAL BUSINESSES TO HOST "THE SAVVY WOMAN'S 'RECIPE' FOR BEING THE BEST SHE CAN BE IN 2010" TO BENEFIT LITERACY IN OUR COMMUNITY WOODBURY, CONN. – On Sunday, February 21, 2010 women will have the opportunity to reinvent themselves at a “makeover” event entitled "Experience Good News for Women" that will transform wardrobes, introduce stylish new “dos” and makeup applications - while imparting the secret of how to incorporate health and wellness from within to create outward beauty. The ultimate goal of the ‘enhancement’, say event producers, is to inspire confidence in how women perform in their daily lives. The event, which is from 1:30 - 4 p.m., is being held at Woodbury’s highly acclaimed Good News Café. Recipient of the Golden Spoon Award and Connecticut Magazine’s highest four-star rating, the Good News Cafe has been voted “Best Restaurant Statewide” and “Best American Restaurant Statewide” in numerous Connecticut Magazine Readers’ Choice Polls. Admission is $55 per person and includes wine, an assortment of “Signature Specialty” hors d’oeuvres prepared by Good News Café owner and renowned Chef Carole Peck, and automatic entry in a raffle. More than 50% of the event’s proceeds will benefit Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury. A team of makeup artists from Viso Bello Day Spa & Massage Therapy Center will premiere their cutting edge new looks for 2010 to achieve the Total Look that works for women. Dan Settani, spa owner, will comment on the importance of caring for your inner core and how it affects your outer beauty. His center has become the premier day spa in the tribury area. Just passing its 20 year anniversary, Viso Bello is progressing to complete an additional 2,000 square foot expansion of its facility. Specializing in Therapeutic body massages, skin & nail care, Viso Bello continually strives for excellence in overall health and wellness. Demonstrating visually on women from the community who have volunteered as models – each model bringing to the fitting a piece of clothing that they are challenged with – fashion stylist and author Andrea Ward will innovate a totally modern image (coordinating cutting edge new clothes by NY and European designers) that will create a great fizz for the 2010 season! Andrea is the author of “Strut in Signature Style/Reinvent Your Wardrobe,” rated among the “Top 10 Reads” by NBC’s iVillage.com for expertise in style.
